Turkish Credit Card Ranked Eight Biggest Card In Europe

ISTANBUL - A Turkish credit card was ranked the eight biggest card program in Europe, the bank issuing the credit card said on Friday.
"Worldcard" of Turkey`s Yapi Kredi Bankasi overtook not only its Turkish rivals but also some other European rivals in terms of transaction volume, and became the eighth biggest card program in Europe, a bank statement said.
According to a recent issue of The Nilson Report, Yapi Kredi`s Worldcard had a transaction volume of 23.5 billion USD.
The Worldcard surpassed credit cards of Citigroup/Egg (Britain), La Caxia (Spain), Banca Santander (Spain), UBS (Switzerland), Nordea (Sweden-Denmark).
The total transaction volume of credit cards in Europe is actually 1.355 trillion USD. Turkey is the fourth in Europe with a volume of 76.98 billion USD. Britain tops the list and France is the second.
