Turkish - Greek Cooperation For Monk Seal

FOCA - Turkish and Greek NGOs carry out a joint project to protect Monk Seals, which are among the 12 endangered species.
Yalcin Savas, a member of the Underwater Researches Association-Monk Seal Search Group, said ''members of their Association and Hellenic Society for the Study and Protection of the Monk Seal convened in Greece between July 24 and 31 within the scope of the project''.
Savas said another meeting would take place in Foca township between September 2nd and 8th.
Savas said ''they met fishermen in the region within the scope of the project'', adding, ''fishermen are among groups who would directly benefit from the protection measures. It is important that members of those groups from both countries should convene.''
