New York Oil Smashes Above 46 Dollars A Barrel

NEW YORK, Aug 13 (AFP) - New York`s main oil contract Friday smashed above 46 dollars a barrel for the first time.
In early afternoon trade, New York`s benchmark light sweet contract for delivery in September hit an all-time high of 46.04 dollars, up 54 cents.
It shattered the previous day`s record of 45.75 dollars.
