BASRA, Iraq, Aug 13 (AFP) - A British journalist was released Friday less than 24 hours after he was abducted by gunmen from his hotel in the southern city of Basra, an AFP photographer witnessed.
Sunday Telegraph reporter James Brandon, 23, was seen at the offices of Moqtada Sadr in Basra, where representatives of the radical cleric said he had been freed and they were escorting him to the police.
