Thirteen Illegal Migrants Suffocate In A Truck Trailer

ISTANBUL - Thirteen illegal migrants died from lack of air in a truck trailer, a Turkish village chief said on Wednesday.
Bodies of illegal migrants were found in the outskirts of Istanbul's Kucukcekmece town, and are believed to be left by the driver together with 125 other illegal migrants who scattered around after being abandoned, village chief Dogan Azat said.
"Officials believe that the driver saw 13 illegal migrants dead and panicked. So, he changed his route and came to this rural area to leave the bodies and other migrants, and then he drove away," Azat stated.
Several migrants, who fled from the spot, were caught by police and police teams were now searching for other migrants, Azat added.
