TEHRAN - Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan held bilateral meetings in Iran where he went to attend the 15th Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Babacan discussed bilateral relations and Iran's nuclear talks with western countries during his bilateral talks with Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad, Foreign Minister Manuchehr Motaki and Secretary General of Supreme National Security Council Said Jalili.
Babacan also thanked Ahmadi-Nejad for Iran's support to Turkey's candidacy for non-permanent membership to UN Security Council for 2009-2010 period.
Babacan conveyed that Turkey considered that the continuation of nuclear talks between Iran and western countries was important.
Babacan will meet with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Wednesday.
