IZMIR - Turkey's Aegean town is getting prepared to host the 6th leg of the World Windsurf Cup between August 12th and 16th, 2008.
Alacati, a unique Aegean town on the western coast of Turkey, will host the 6th leg of Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) World Windsurf Cup organized by PWA, Turkish Sailing Federation, Sportworks and Alacati Municipality.
Engin Kalafatoglu from Turkish Sailing Federation told the A.A on Tuesday that Alacati was ready for such organizations and events.
Leading names such as Bjorn Dunkerbeck, Kevin Pritchard, Micah Buzianis, Jimmy Diaz and Antoine Albeau are expected to attend the event in Alacati.
Alacati is one of the most interesting surfing areas in Europe and offers a variety not found in many places. It is located in a V-shaped cove with crystal clear water and is surrounded with lush vegetation. The changing winds and perfect conditions make it one of the best surfing areas in Europe.
