Foreign Ministry Spokesman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Qashqavi has strongly condemned the recent terrorist acts in Istanbul.
At least 15 people were killed and over 150 injured as two consecutive blasts hit a crowded street at a busy hour in the residential Gungoren district of Istanbul late Sunday just ahead of a top court hearing on whether to ban the governing party. It was the deadliest attack in the city in almost five years.
"Such terrorist acts, which kill and injure large numbers of innocent people, are cause for profound grief," Qashqavi said.
He expressed Iran's sympathy with the Turkish government, nation and bereaved families of the victims.
