NEW YORK - Turkey's foreign minister, who currently holds talks in New York, USA to seek support for a non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), met representatives of various Turkish associations on Friday.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting at the Turkish House in New York, Foreign Minister Ali Babacan said developments in Turkey and USA were discussed during the talks.
Babacan informed Turkish representatives on Turkey's UNSC membership process, the country's vision in foreign politics, as well as its efforts to establish peace and stability, officials said.
The latest developments in Turkish economy, capital inflow and investments were on the agenda of Babacan's talks with Turkish representatives, sources added.
During the meeting, Babacan also said that the Turkish community in USA should work in a more coordinated way, officials said.
Babacan is expected to depart from New York for Turkey on Saturday.
