Airbus Says America West Confirms Order For 10 A320s, 7 A319s

PARIS, Aug 12 (AFP) - European aircraft maker Airbus Industrie said Thursday that low-cost US carrier America West had confirmed an order for 10 A320 aircraft and seven A319s.
America West will lease an additional four A320s and will either purchase or lease one other, the company said.
No financial details were disclosed.
Delivery of the aircraft will run from late 2005 and into 2006, Airbus said.
Airbus is owned 80 percent by European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company and 20 percent by BAE Systems of Britain.
A preliminary deal was originally agreed in May.
List prices for the aircraft put the value for the 17 planes ordered at just over one billion dollars (817.8 million euros), although discounting is common on larger orders.
America West currently has a fleet of 32 A319s and 53 A320s.
