Turkish Naval Forces And Coast Guard Launch New Sumbarine And Boats

KOCAELI - Turkish Naval Forces and Coast Guard launched a submarine, an assault boat and two coast guard boasts at a ceremony held at the Naval Dockyard in the Golcuk town of the northwestern province of Kocaeli on Friday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Turkey's General Staff Chief Gen. Yasar Buyukanit said Turkey had a naval force capable of countering all sorts of threats and preserving the peace.
He said Turkish Naval Forces was among the best naval forces in the world and it contributed to UN's efforts for preservation of peace.
Gen. Buyukanit said MILGEM Project (Turkey's national warship project) carried out by Turkish Naval Forces in cooperation with local industrialists was about to bear fruit. He said the first ship under Heybeliada project would soon be launched.
