TRNC President Mehmet Ali Talat stated that starting date of the negotiations will be determined at the meeting which shall be held with the leader of Greek Cypriot Administration on Friday and probably this date will be in September.
Underlining importance of the political equality with Greek Cypriot side, Talat stated that this should be in every decision making mechanism.
Pointing out that no settlement was arranged on the presidency system, Talat reiterated that it was not possible to abolish the guaranty system. Talat said "the guaranty and alliance agreements are not between the Turkish and Greek Cypriot sides, they are international agreements".
Stating that there were some "red lines" at the meetings with the Greek Cypriot side, they did not shut the doors excluding these, and they were ready to discuss every subject, Talat listed the red lines as "the guaranty of Turkey concerning security, political equality, bi-zonality and two founder states"
