KUMLUCA - A mosaic pavement was brought to daylight in excavations which began in Rhodiapolis ancient city in Kumluca town of southern province of Antalya nearly a month ago.
Akdeniz University Archeology Department Chairman Nevzat Celik told A.A correspondent on Thursday that the excavations had been underway in the region for three years but this year`s excavations started a month ago.
Cevik said they discovered a 500 square meters floor decorated with mosaic pavement belonging to second century A.D.
"The mosaic pavement is in its genuine color. We will cover the mosaic pavement and put soil to protect the color," he said.
