MUGLA/BODRUM/EDIRNE - Turkish Security Forces arrested Tuesday a total of 202 illegal migrants in separate operations waged throughout the country.
Following a lead, Gendarmerie forces arrested 36 illegal migrants of Iraqi, Iranian and Palestinian origin in the Datca town of Aegean province of Mugla on Monday.
Two Turkish citizens were arrested under charges of aiding the illegal migrants.
A Coast Guard boat, patrolling offshore from Bodrum, a town in Mugla, stopped a suspicious looking boat, and arrested 25 illegal migrants of Iranian origin who were on board.
In separate operations carried out in the Northwestern province of Edirne, Gendarmerie forces arrested 141 illegal migrants of Burmese, Iraqi, Palestinian and Iranian origin.
The illegal migrants will be deported after legal proceedings.
