German Climbers Thank Turkish Authorities After Arriving Home

BERLIN - Three German climbers, kidnapped by PKK terrorists in eastern Turkey and released on Sunday, thanked Turkish authorities after arriving in Germany on Monday.
Lars Holger R., one of the three German mountaineers, told a press conference at Munich Airport that he would like to thank Turkish officials for not launching an operation in the region.
"We feared to get caught in the middle of a gunfight," he said.
The three men were released on Sunday, nearly two weeks after being abducted by the terrorist organization PKK on July 8th during a climbing expedition on Mount Agri in eastern province of Agri.
They flew home to Germany on Monday.
