ISTANBUL (CÝHAN) - Champions Fenerbahce's new player Alex De Souza told a joint press conference on Wednesday that he will not have any problem settling in Turkey.
Brazilian Copa America winner captain Alex De Souza and his compatriot defender Fabio Luciano held a joint press conference in Samandýra Training Facilities.
The Yellow Canaries signed the 27-year from Brazilian player from Cruzeiro for an estimated $ 8 million.
However, Alex has been likened to Ariel Ortega by Turkish Sport pundits. They claim that like Ortega, Alex would also not adjust to the Turkish lifestyle.
Alex brushed aside the speculations by saying he had pre-information about Turkey and Fenerbahce. "Brazilian national coach Carlos Alberto Pareira and Luciano gave positive reference about Fenerbahce. I don't think I will have a problem."
Alex vowed to meet the high expectations of Fenerbahce fans.
Defender Luciano said that he would form a good partnership with youngster Servet Cetin in defense.
Fenerbahce will face Samsunspor in the second week of play following a lackluster performance against Rizespor in its opening match.
