IZMIR - Australian ambassador to Turkey visited the Governor's Office and Municipality of the Aegean province of Izmir on Monday.
During his meeting with Izmir Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu, ambassador Peter Doyle said that it was the first official visit he paid to Izmir since his appointment as the Australian Ambassador in Ankara September 2007.
Doyle said he aimed to seek new business opportunities between Turkey and Australia during his talks in this Aegean city.
The ambassador also said that Australian companies operating in energy and transportation infrastructure sectors desired to make investments in Turkey.
