SANLIURFA - Halfeti town and Rumkale hamlet of southeast Sanliurfa province and Zeugma Ancient city in southeast Gaziantep province will be promoted thanks to a new project.
Halfeti Subgovernor Ahmet Odabas told A.A correspondent on Wednesday that the project aiming to increase the tourism activity of Zeugma, Halfeti and Rumkale was presented to officials who are responsible of the ''Program on Protection and Development of Cultural Heritage in GAP (southeastern Anatolia) Region''.
Noting that the program financed by donation of 12 million Euros, Odabas said that touristic activities in the region would increase if the project is accepted.
Odabas added that they would also prepare a VCD to promote Halfeti, Rumkale and Zeugma Ancient city. Halfeti was inundated during construction of Birecik Dam and Rumkale is known as the place where Bible was copied.
