PKK Had To Release German Mountaineers Due To Tight Security Measures, Agri Governor

VAN - The governor of an eastern province of Turkey said on Sunday that PKK terrorists, who could not stand against the tight measures taken by Turkish security forces, had to release the three German mountaineers they kidnapped from Mount Agri on July 8th.
Mehmet Cetin, governor of the eastern Agri province, told reporters that Turkish security forces immediately reached the region upon the release of German tourists and they brought the mountaineers to Dogubayazit town centre.
"Upon the completion of medical examinations and legal proceedings, the mountaineers will be delivered to the German delegation waiting in Agri," Cetin said.
Members of the terrorist organization PKK kidnapped three German mountaineers on July 9th, 2008 from Mount Agri in eastern Turkey. Thirteen mountaineers, headed by a guide, were camping at 3,200 meters of altitude when five terrorists raided the camp and abducted three mountaineers.
After the attack, Turkish gendarmery launched a wide-scale search and rescue operation and the other mountaineers were brought to Agri`s Dogubayazit town.
