Chuck Berry To Give Concert In Istanbul

ISTANBUL - Rock and Roll`s legendary figure Chuck Berry will give a concert in Istanbul on August 15th.
The 82-year-old American musician will perform at Istanbul`s Parkorman, sources said on Saturday.
Charles Edward Anderson "Chuck" Berry, born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1926, is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is an influential figure and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music.
Berry was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on its opening in 1986. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Chuck Berry the 5th on their list of "The Immortals: The First Fifty". He was also ranked the 6th on Rolling Stone`s "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame included three of Chuck Berry`s songs (Johnny B. Goode, Maybellene, Rock & Roll Music), of the 500 songs that shaped Rock and Roll.
Berry was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1984.
