LEFKOSA - The Turkish Cypriot prime minister received on Saturday a Turkish party leader.
The meeting between Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Zeki Sezer, the chairman of the Democratic Left Party (DSP) of Turkey, took place at the Prime Ministry building in Lefkosa, TRNC.
Sezer is actually in TRNC to attend July 20th Peace and Freedom Day celebrations.
During the meting, Sezer highlighted importance of dialogue between Turkey and TRNC, and underlined the necessity of careful monitor of developments regarding TRNC.
Also, Premier Soyer said that TRNC had always favored cooperation and dialogue, and defined Cyprus as a problem related with common interests of Turkey and Turkish Cypriots and an issue that should be monitored continuously.
"It will be for our best interests to maintain this dialogue," Soyer also said.
Soyer said that Turkish Cypriots wanted a solution based on a bi-zonal structure formed by two equal nations who had the right to self-administration and who had its own state, but who lived in peace under a common administration in which they had common sovereignty.
The Turkish Cypriot premier also said that Turkey`s status as guarantor state should be preserved in that structure.
"This common sovereignty will be represented as a whole in the international arena," Soyer said.
Soyer also underlined importance of equal status of two founder states in such a structure.
