ANKARA - Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was started to be seen like a state in the world.
Speaking to reporters prior to his departure for TRNC, Erdogan said that TRNC was earlier defined as a community in the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), but now it was called as Turkish Cypriot State and it was an observer member in the Organization.
When asked about the details of his meetings with U.S. and Iranian officials in Ankara in the last two days, Erdogan said that during his meeting with U.S. National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley, they discussed Turkey-U.S. strategic cooperation, Syrian-Israeli talks mediated by Turkey, Lebanese issue and his recent visit to Iraq.
Regarding his meeting with Iran`s Foreign Minister Manuchehr Motaki, Erdogan said that they took up military, political, security and economic targets in Turkey-Iran relations.
Erdogan said that they set up foreign trade target between Turkey and Iran for 2011 as 20 billion USD.
He added that there was a serious solidarity between Turkey and Iran in fight against terrorism.
