ANKARA - National Infrastructures Minister Binyamin Ben Eliezer of Israel has expressed gratitude of Israeli people and government to Turkey for its mediation in peace talks with Syria and its contributions to efforts to safeguard stability in the region.
Eliezer, who is currently in Turkey on a working visit, met Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler.
Following the meeting, Eliezer said that the Mediterranean Pipeline Project (Medstream) including the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, India, the People`s Republic of China and Thaiwan would make valuable contributions to the Middle East peace process.
He said that the project would enable them transport raw oil, natural gas, water, electricity and fiberoptic.
He said that Azerbaijan and Russia were also interested in the project, and that he tried to provide financial source for the project during his visits to those countries.
Eliezer said that they would sign an understanding of memorandum and a commercial agreement with Russia. He said that Azerbaijan wanted to use the oil pipeline of the project.
He added that they planned to purchase water from Turkey through pipeline.
