ISTANBUL - Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu said on Tuesday that those who wanted to impair tranquility, stability and good image of Istanbul staged the attacks --happened this morning-- in Istanbul, stressing that ''I condemn these treacherous attacks.''
Aksu met Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler and briefed journalists about blasts that took place in Istanbul earlier this morning.
After his meeting with Guler, Aksu told reporters that two people died and 11 others were injured in blasts in Sultanahmet, Laleli and Esenyurt districts of Istanbul.
He stated that security and bomb disposal teams continued their works in hotels in Sultanahmet and Laleli districts and in LPG filling plant in Esenyurt where explosions occurred.
Aksu said that seven people were earlier captured in an operation in Istanbul and four of them were arrested, adding that they were also examining whether those people had connection with those blasts.
Asked whether there were any person/persons arrested in connection with the blasts, Aksu said that no one was arrested in connection with those attacks in Istanbul right now.
