France Glad About Turkey's Decision On Union For Mediterranean

ANKARA - French ambassador said France was glad about Turkey's decision to take part in the Union for Mediterranean.
A reception was held at French embassy in Ankara on Monday to mark the Bastille Day of France.
French Ambassador in Ankara Bernard Emie recalled French President Nicholas Sarkozy and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a meeting in French capital of Paris on Sunday. France's support to rapprochement process between Turkey and EU was confirmed in this meeting, Emie said.
Emie said they were glad about Turkey's decision to take part in this promising project (the Union for Mediterranean) and he would work to boost relations between Turkey and France.

-UNION FOR THE MEDITERRANEAN-
The Union for the Mediterranean is a proposed community of EU-member states and countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. It was originally suggested by French President Nicolas Sarkozy. The project envisages cooperation among the EU-member states and Mediterranean-littoral countries in environment, potable water, energy, transportation, sustainable development and fight against illegal migration.
