Admiral Ornek Leaves For Georgia

ANKARA - Turkish Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ozden Ornek left for Georgia on Tuesday to attend a ceremony in which Bulgaria will hand over command of the Black Sea Naval Cooperation Task Group (Blackseafor) to Georgia.
The ceremony will take place in Batumi, Georgia, on Wednesday.
Georgian Naval Forces Commander Admiral Gennady Khaidarov will take over command of the Blackseafor.
After attending the ceremony, Admiral Ornek is expected to return to Turkey the same day.
Turkish TCG Yildirim, Bulgarian BGS Sirius, Georgian GGS Dioskuria, Romanian RON Admiral Horia Macelariu, Russian RUS Yamal and Ukrainian UPS Slavutich Navy vessels will attend the ceremony.
The Blackseafor was established on April 2, 2001 by Turkey, Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russia, and Ukraine with the aim of enhancement of peace and stability in the Black Sea as well as promoting regional co-operation among the Black Sea littoral states.
