New And Liquidated Companies In January - July Period Of 2004

ANKARA - A total of 3,347 new companies and 35,836 new trade names were established in July of 2004 with a total capital of 526 trillion Turkish liras (TL).
The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) said on Tuesday that number of the established companies increased 30.26 percent from 19,018 to 20,547 in the January-July period of 2004.
Within the same month, 2,999 companies increased their capital by 3.8 quadrillion TL, 16 companies with total capital of 45.9 trillion TL changed their status, and 692 companies with total capital of 2.2 trillion TL were liquidated.
Number of the liquidated companies rose 29.01 percent from 3,171 to 4,091 in the January-July period of the year.
Numbers and fields of activity of the newly established companies are as follows: 958 in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles, and household items; 736 in manufacturing; 440 in construction; 378 in transport, storage, communication; 328 in real estate; 111 in hotels and restaurants; 77 in finance; 65 in medical and social services; 63 in agriculture, hunting, forestry; 57 in education; and 52 other in community, social and personal services.
Numbers and fields of activity of the companies which increased their capital are as follows: 894 in manufacturing; 826 in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles, and household items; 451 in construction; 295 in transport, storage, communication; 206 in real estate; 88 in hotels and restaurant; 60 in finance; 54 in medical and social services; 52 other in community, social and personal services; and 32 in education Numbers and fields of activity of the liquidated companies are as follows: 222 in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles, and household items; 153 in manufacturing; 142 in construction; 51 in transport, storage, communication; 42 in real estate; 23 in finance; 21 in medical and social services; 15 in hotels and restaurants; 11 in other community, social and personal services; 6 in education; 4 in agriculture, hunting, forestry; and 2 in mining and quarrying.
