ANKARA - A total of 952.7 trillion Turkish liras (TL) has been collected from privatization practices since the beginning of 2004.
According to the Privatization Administration Board (OIB) statistics, 289.1 trillion TL was collected from block sales and the remaining 663.6 trillion TL from facility and asset sales.
The OIB data show that 82 out of every 100 TL obtained from privatization since the beginning of the year was spent for expenditures like capital contribution (except borrowing), counseling, notice and debt repayments.
According to the data, 71.1 percent (including borrowing) of privatization incomes this year was spent.
OIB's dividend incomes were 244.8 trillion TL and 3.5 trillion TL was collected from the money lent to companies in the privatization portfolio.
Other revenues of the OIB were calculated as 44.4 trillion TL while 1,443 trillion TL of source was obtained together with 198 trillion TL of borrowing.
In return for this source, payments to companies in privatization portfolio were 142.5 trillion TL.
Among these, capital contributions had the highest share with 76.7 trillion TL and the total loans lent to these companies reached 50.6 trillion TL.
During this period, 11.1 trillion TL was spent for job loss compensations, 2.2 trillion TL for compensations and other personnel payments and 1.7 trillion TL for early retirement premium payments.
This year, OIB spent 1.7 trillion TL for supervision and counseling and 651 billion TL for tender notices.
OIB repaid 751.9 trillion TL in privatization bond principal repayment and allocated 116.2 trillion TL for interest payments of these bonds.
According to the statistics, 4.6 trillion TL of source was transferred to the OIB's budget for general management expenses and other source use was set as 8.8 trillion TL. So the total amount of use this year was calculated as 1,026.5 trillion TL.
This use is equal to 82.4 percent of total sources (except borrowing) and to 71.1 percent of total sources (including borrowing).
