National Security Council To Convene On August 25

ANKARA - The National Security Council (NSC) will convene under the chairmanship of President Ahmet Necdet Sezer on August 25, 2004.
The regular meeting of the NSC that is held every two months will start at 13.30 local time at the Cankaya Presidential Palace.
Recent developments both in Turkey and in the world will be discussed at the meeting.
Meanwhile, Land Forces Commander General Aytac Yalman and Gendarme Forces Commander General Sener Eruygur, who will retire as of August 30, 2004 in line with the decisions made at last week's annual meeting of the Supreme Military Board (YAS), will attend the NSC meeting for the last time.
Also, NSC Secretary General Gen. Sukru Sariisik, whose term in office will end as of August 30, 2004, will attend the meeting for the last time.
