Eradicating P.K.K. Terrorist Organization Is Most Important Task Of Both Turkey And Iraq, Erdogan

BAGHDAD - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Thurday "eradicating PKK terrorist organization is the most important task of both Turkey and Iraq."
Erdogan held a tete-a-tete meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Thursday as part of his official trip to Iraq.
Bringing up the issue of PKK at the meeting, Erdogan said that "abolishing PKK terrorist organization would benefit both Turkey and Iraq."
Touching on the problems faced by the Iraqis since 2003, Erdogan said that "we hope the pain in Iraq would end. We, as Turkey, are ready to do whatever is needed to help Iraq reach stability."
Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said that his government was pleased to see a Turkish prime minister in Baghdad after a period of 18 years.
Erdogan and al-Maliki are expected to sign an agreement that would facilitate the establishment of a Strategic Cooperation High Council.
The two leaders will answer questions from the press corps following the signature ceremony of the new council.
