Turkey's Concerns On Union For Mediterranean Were Allayed, M.F.A. Spokesman

ANKARA - Spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Thursday Turkey's concerns about the Union for Mediterranean had been removed at a great extent.
Speaking at a weekly press briefing, spokesman Burak Ozugergin said French President Nicolas Sarkozy earlier called Turkey's Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the G-8 summit.
"I got an impression that necessary statements removing concerns of Premier Erdogan had been made," Ozugergin said.
A ministerial conference would be held in fall 2008 and the project (the Union for Mediterranean) would become more clear at this conference, he stated.
