We Expect A Solution In Cyprus Would Include Continuation Of Turkey's Active Guaranty, MFA Spokesman

ANKARA - Spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Burak Ozugergin, said Thursday they expected that a solution in Cyprus would also include continuation of Turkey`s active guaranty.
Speaking at a weekly press briefing, Ozugergin said that the year 2008 offered an opportunity to find a comprehensive solution in Cyprus.
"We wish for a just, comprehensive and permanent solution in Cyprus based on the good will mission of the UN Secretary General, a bi-communal and bi-zonal solution which gives the two sides political equality," Ozugergin said.
