WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. spokesman said on Wednesday they appreciated Turkish policemen`s courage to protect American diplomats -- in an armed attack outside the U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul.
In a daily briefing, Sean McCormack, spokesman of the U.S. State Department, said the United States condemned the terrorist attack that took place in front of the U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul and offered condolences to families of three policemen who died in this attack.
McCormack stated the two countries would stand together against threat of terrorism as they did in the past.
