ISTANBUL - Turkish security authorities estimated the number of terrorists who staged an armed attack on a police post outside the U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul as four, Turkish interior minister said on Wednesday.
Interior Minister Besir Atalay told reporters three terrorists were killed in the shooting outside the consulate general and there was another who drove the car.
"I considered that the other will be caught soon," he said.
Atalay also said he cancelled his visit to Iraqi capital of Baghdad scheduled to start on Thursday.
A security guard and two traffic policemen were killed in the attack near the visa entrance of the U.S. diplomatic compound, and three attackers were also killed in the shooting.
