EU Lawmaker Condemns Armed Attack On Police Post Outside US Consulate In Istanbul

BRUSSELS - European Parliament`s Turkey Rapporteur Ria Oomen-Ruijten condemned an armed attack Wednesday on a police post outside the U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul.
"This attack reminds us to stay alert and stand by Turkey in its fight against international terrorism," Oomen-Ruijten said in a written statement.
A security guard and two traffic policemen were killed in the attack near the visa entrance of the U.S. diplomatic compound, and three attackers were also killed in the shooting.
