French President Sarkozy Invites Erdogan To Summit Of Union For Mediterranean

ANKARA - French President Nicolas Sarkozy called Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and invited him to the upcoming summit of the Union for the Mediterranean.
Erdogan informed Sarkozy that he would try to attend the summit despite his busy schedule.
Most diplomats describe the Union for the Mediterranean as a separate entity that has no relationship to Turkey's EU membership process.
