ISTANBUL - Turkish director Seyfi Teoman's first feature film "Tatil Kitabi" (Summer Book) won best film award at Artfilm International Film Festival that took place in Slovakia.
"Tatil Kitabi" competed with 14 films from around the world in international competition and shared the "Blue Angel Award" (best film category) with "Wolfsbergen", a Dutch-Belgian co-production directed by Nanouk Leopold.
Teoman said he dedicated his award to famous Swedish actress Liv Ullman, who was the honorary guest of the festival.
"Tatil Kitabi", which was also honored at several national and international film festivals, tells the story of a Turkish family in a small town somewhere on the Mediterranean coast. It observes the family's daily routine and shows its dramatic potential in a subtle, minimalist fashion from the eyes of family's youngest boy.
