ANTALYA - Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit said on Monday that restoring a positive security atmosphere among countries was the responsibility of armed forces.
"Politicians and diplomats may contribute to the solution of the problem by making use of this security atmosphere," Gen. Buyukanit said while speaking at a news conference that was given after the Second Balkan Countries General Staff Chiefs` Conference in the southern Turkish province of Antalya.
Gen. Buyukanit said Balkan Countries General Staff Chiefs` Conference aimed at enhancing current solidarity and cooperation among the armed forces of the participating Balkan countries.
"The participating countries exchanged views on many joint military activities. We have the full belief that this forum will have an important function to improve military relations among Balkan countries," Gen. Buyukanit said adding that the third meeting would take place in Serbia.
