BERN, Aug 8 (AFP) - The city of New York has filed a lawsuit against some 40 pharmaceutical companies including Novartis and Roche alleging fraud, deceptive and unfair practices and illegal gains, the Swiss newspaper NZZ am Sonntag reported on Sunday.
City legal officials told the weekly that the companies artificially inflated the wholesale prices of their drugs, costing the city extra millions of dollars (euros).
A representative of the Swiss-based company Roche confirmed to NZZ am Sonntag that it had been named in a lawsuit, but declined to provide details.
