ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that they continue to take new measures for the safety of Turkish citizens in Iraq.
Speaking to reporters following his Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Central Executive Board meeting, Erdogan said that it is known that chaos in Iraq increases, adding that Turkey continues to take new measures for the security of Turkish citizens in that country.
Erdogan said that they pursued their activities to find missing people and rescue hostages by developing very special and strong initiatives.
Upon a question regarding the activities to provide life security of Turkish citizens in Iraq, Erdogan said that Turkish Foreign Ministry pursued activities on that issue. He added that certain stations in Iraq would be determined as security zones and those stations could be transferred to Iraqi drivers.
