MEANINGFUL INAUGURATION FROM PRIME MINISTER
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will inaugurate the factory established by Efrim Bag, one of the famous businessman of Turkish Armenian society, in Tatvan where he was born.
Nemrut Bims is the first and only factory of Tatvan having 150 workers.
Efrim Bag said, ''our target is to increase the employment potential to 1000 people and export our products to whole Europe.''

ERDOGAN SAYS RELATIONS WITH IMF WILL CONTINUE UNDER A NEW STAND-BY DEAL
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that relations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) after 2004 would continue under a new stand-by arrangement.
Speaking to reporters following his Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Central Executive Board meeting, Erdogan said that talks with the IMF on new economic program had been under way and they had been developing according to their expectations.
''We have decided to continue our relations with the IMF in 2005 and after under a new stand-by arrangement which includes use of source,'' he said.

GOLDEN GIRL WITHDRAWS FROM OLYMPIAD
Turkey was waiting for Sureyya Ayhan to get the golden medal in Olympiad in Athens. However, Omer Cavus, Ayhan's doctor, said the gastric bleeding which she had in June caused the previous physical disability in her calf to reappear.
15 days after the gastric bleeding Ayhan re-started her training but the problems appeared again.

DIE TO ANNOUNCE CORE INFLATION AS OF 2005
''The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) will start to announce figures of core inflation, starting as of next year,'' Chairman Omer Demir announced on Friday.
Demir said figures of core inflation would be necessary for inflation planning, stating that Central Bank asked for the announcement of core inflation figures.
He said a joint study group would be set up on the issue.
''This (the core inflation) would be an inflation figure from where temporary elements are eliminated. Earlier, private manufacturing industry's figures were described as the core inflation, but core inflation is not only the manufacturing industry,'' Demir noted.

SUREYYA SHOCKS
1500 meters European Champion Sureyya Ayhan announced only one week before Athens Olympic Games that she withdrew from Games due to problem in her knee. Athletics Federation stated that Ayhan took this decision without asking the federation. State Minister for sports Mehmet Ali Sahin said, ''Sureyya Ayhan had a gastric bleeding in Erciyes two months ago. She had also edema in her knee in Edirne. She will not attend games because her treatment will take 15 days.''

SEARCH OF SECURITY IN IRAQ
The government takes new measures for the security of Turkish drivers in Iraq. Those measures are railway transportation, alternative routes and cooperation with Iraqi officials. The government did not give further details.

RUBIN: PKK WEAKENS UNITED STATES
Former official of U.S. Defense Department Rubin said that the existence of PKK terrorist organization in the north of Iraq weakens moral force of Washington's fight against terrorism. Criticizing the United States for not eliminating PKK, Rubin said that this situation would endanger relations between Turkey and the United States.

ERDOGAN TO APPOINT NSC SECRETARY GENERAL
First step was taken for appointment of a civilian person to National Security Council (NSC) Secretariat General. When Gen. Sukru Sariisik, current NSC Secretary General, will be appointed to 2nd Army Command, a civilian will be appointed as new Secretary General. The appointment will be made under the authority of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. A diplomat is expected to be appointed to the mission.

ERDOGAN: WE WILL CONTINUE THE PATH WITH IMF
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that stand-by agreement will be signed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) with use of source. The existing program will end in the beginning of 2005 and the new one will be for three years.

CLAMP FROM WTO TO TURKISH AGRICULTURE
If the agreement, which will be shaped in the end of September, becomes appropriate with the framework agreement of World Trade Organization (WTO), agriculture will be hit including Turkish agriculture.

INJUSTICE TO TRNC
Initiatives of the United States and Britain to United Nations to end isolation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) were not concluded. Russia and France opposed to the proposal to end isolation of TRNC.

ADDITIONAL MEASURES TAKEN FOR SAFE TRADE IN IRAQ
Turkish Foreign Ministry took measures to reduce security risks in Iraq.
Releasing a statement, the ministry said that efforts and activities have been under way for Iraq's rebuilding and settlement of stability in this country but Iraq remained to be a risky country in terms of security.
''As a result of these meetings, a series of additional security and logistic measures were determined regarding the areas of road security, safe transportation and secure storing and discharging places, alternative routes, personnel arrangements, cooperation with Iraqi authorities and insurance, assuring the minimizing of dangers ad risks in Iraq. The Turkish government will support implementation of these measures,'' it said.

ERDOGAN: WHAT HAS BEEN DONE TO TURKISH DRIVERS IN IRAQ IS BRUTALITY
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan described the attacks on Turkish drivers in Iraq as ''brutality''.
Erdogan said, ''those can not have connection with Islam. It is impossible for us to accept such actions and brutality.'' Speaking after his Justice and Development Party (AK Party) group meeting, Erdogan said efforts were underway to find missing Turkish people.''

LIBYA CALLS TURKISH COMPANIES TO INVEST IN THIS COUNTRY
Libyan Electricity Minister Omran Abu Kra said Libya's electricity requirements increase 10 percent every year, noting that they expected Turkish companies to undertake investments in Libya for electricity generation and distribution.
Kra, who met Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hilmi Guler, said they wanted to benefit from Turkey's experiences in electricity generation.
He said, ''let us strengthen our historical and cultural ties with cooperation in energy.''
