EDIRNE/BELEN - Turkish anti-drug teams confiscated 80 kg of heroin and 13 kg of hashish in operations conducted on Thursday.
Customs police received a tip and searched a truck at Kapikule border gate in the northeastern province of Edirne. Police found 80 kg of heroin stashed in textiles loaded truck, which was bound for France, by the help of a sniffer dog. Police detained the driver and 6 other people in Istanbul and Izmir in connection with the drug trafficking.
In another operation in Belen town of the southern province of Hatay, police teams searched a passenger minibus and found 13 kg of hashish in the luggage of a passenger. Police arrested the passenger.
