BUDAPEST - Turkey's culture minister arrived in Budapest, Hungary on Thursday.
Culture & Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay will hold talks in Hungary to promote Istanbul as European Capital of Culture in 2010.
Gunay will meet the Hungarian Minister of Education and Culture Istvan Hiller on Thursday.
The minister will travel to Pecs city of Hungary on Friday and will hold talks with authorities so that European Capitals of Culture for 2010 Istanbul and Pecs organize joint exhibitions.
Ertugrul Gunay and his delegation will depart from Hungary on Saturday, July 5th.
In November 2006, the European Council declared Istanbul, together with Pecs city of Hungary and Essen city of Germany, as the European Capital of Culture for 2010.
The European Capital of Culture is a city designated by the European Union for a period of one year during which it is given a chance to showcase its cultural life and cultural development.
