ANKARA - Turkish security forces arrested 164 illegal migrants in their operations throughout the country on Wednesday.
Gendarmery forces detained 92 illegal migrants hidden in a lorry in the northwestern province of Kocaeli.
In a separate operation in the eastern province of Bitlis, police captured 29 illegal migrants.
Also, 23 illegal migrants were arrested in the western province of Canakkale.
In another operation in the western province of Aydin, coast guard caught 20 illegal migrants who wanted to sneak into Greek island of Samos.
The illegal migrants were of Afghan, Pakistani, Iraqi and Mauritanian origin.
They will be deported once legal proceedings are completed.
