ANTALYA - The 41st Antalya ''Golden Orange'' Film Festival, the most prominent cultural activity of Turkish motion picture industry, will be held between October 3 and 9, 2004, sources said on Friday.
The 13-member organization committee, formed by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Antalya Culture and Art Foundation (AKSAV) officials, has intensified its efforts to ready the program of this year's festival.
This year's Life Time Achievement Award will be given to Sener Sen and Hale Soygazi.
AKSAV Deputy Director General Goksel Kumsal told the A.A correspondent that next year's 42nd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival would be an international festival under the name of ''Eurasia Golden Orange Film Festival''.
''We were used to give awards in 12-13 categories so far. Now, we will adopt world standards in awards. Therefore, we will start giving awards in the categories such as animation, make up and hair style, and visual effects,'' he said.
Highlighting the importance of bringing the international dimension to the festival, Kumsal said, ''all films will be shown with Turkish and English subtitles.''
Nearly 18 Turkish films are expected to participate in the 41st Golden Orange National Contest.
Meanwhile, the 10th International Short-feature Film and Video Contest will be held under the 41st Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.
Sources said that several countries applied to participate this year's short-feature film and video contest.
Results of the contest will be made public at the same time with results of the national long-feature film contest.
