The champion of EURO 2008 will be determined after the game which will be played between Spain and Germany at 9:45 p.m. today. Huge final in Vienna will encounter Turkish soccer team Fenerbahce`s new coach Luis Aragones and former one Joachim Loew.

BEST TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Eurosport and Daily Mirror selected Fatih Terim as the best technical director. Also, La Gazetta Dello Sport selected Turkish national soccer team as the third most successful team.

FIERCE ARGUEMENT IN ASPENDOS
The huge performance center, which will be built near Aspendos Ancient Theater, caused debates. Archeologists strongly reacted when Antalya Protection Board gave a permission to the company --producer of Fire of Anatolia show-- for a construction in a third degree protected area.

MEDICINE CRISIS ON ROAD
Turkish Pharmacists Association (TEB) officials, who met Social Security Institution executives for Medicine Purchase Protocol, did not sign the protocol because required steps were not taken. TEB stated that the protocol would end on July 1st, and if a new one was not signed, people who had social security could not buy medicine from pharmacies.

WE HAVE CONFIDENCE IN TURKISH JUDICIARY, TSK
Turkish General Staff announced on Saturday night that the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) was under a systematic attack by certain circles. TSK had full confidence in Turkish judiciary and justice, told the General Staff.

FEAR OF WARNING
Chairman of Turkish opposition Republican People`s Party (CHP) Deniz Baykal is still unsure about whether to travel to Athens for a meeting of the Socialist International or not. Baykal could not decide on attending or not attending the Socialist International convention as there is a possibility of the Socialist International expelling the CHP from its entity.

EARTHQUAKE DISAPPOINTMENT OF FAMOUS PROFESSOR
12 scientists, including famous professor Mete Sozen, prepared a report on earthquakes in 2005. The report called on Turkish officials to take urgent steps so that the death toll in a possible earthquake could be minimized. However, neither the Turkish Prime Ministry nor the National Security Council (MGK) paid attention to this report. Prof. Sozen of the Purdue University stressed that around "150,000 people would die after a major earthquake in Istanbul."

MULTI TURKMALL TO SPEND 10 BLN EURO FOR 25 NEW SHOPPING CENTERS
Multi Turkmall, the Turkish affiliate of the Dutch Multi Corporation, has allocated 10 billion euro for the construction of 25 new shopping centers throughout Turkey. The new shopping centers would provide jobs to a total of 33,000 people.

HOT WEATHER MELTED ASPHALT
Temperatures were over 40 degrees Celsius in many parts of Turkey yesterday. The temperature exceeded 40 degrees Celsius in southern province of Antalya and the humidity was also over 60 percent. The temperature was 45 degrees Celsius in Marmaris town of western province of Mugla. The extreme hot weather melted asphalt on Marmaris-Datca highway.

General Staff released a harsh statement regarding the news reports which recently have been published against Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in various press organs. General Staff said that it was aware that TSK was face to face with a systematic attack of certain circles. TSK had full confidence in Turkish judiciary and justice, stated the General Staff.

DESERT HEAT TO CONTINUE TO AFFECT TURKEY
Air temperature all across Turkey will get cooler by one or two degrees Celsius on Sunday and Monday. As of Tuesday, temperatures throughout Turkey will rise again and be 4-9 degrees Celsius higher than average figures.

TORTURE IN TURKEY DECREASED
Chairman of the Turkish Parliamentary Human Rights Commission and a Justice and Development (AK) Party MP from Mersin Zafer Uskul said that torture incidents in Turkey have decreased and almost came to a full stop.

General Staff released a statement on Saturday and said, "we are face to face with a hateful attack which is pursued by certain circles in an organized way. Turkish Armed Forces will surely take necessary measures to protect itself."

10 BLN EURO INVESTMENT DUE IN TURKEY
Multi Turkmall, Turkey affiliate of Dutch Multi Corp. which works on real estate sector, will open 25 shopping centers with 10 billion Euro of investment in Turkey.

TAX RISE ON WAY, CAMERAS SOLD OUT
Cameras were taken under Special Consumption Tax. Citizens, who thought that the prices will be 20 percent higher as of July 1st, rushed into technology markets. However, sector representatives are uneasy: "we targeted to sell 850,000 cameras this year. The tax will drop the sales 40 percent."

TRANSPORTERS ARE ON THRESHOLD OF BANKRUPTCY
The rise in fuel hit mostly transportation sector. The prices of diesel oil increased 22 percent when compared to the beginning of 2008, and 40 percent when compared to May, 2007. Truck drivers and bus and minibus companies are on the threshold of bankruptcy.

ROAD MAP WITHOUT IMF
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) does not exist in Turkey`s three year investment and action plan. According to the new economic program, Turkey`s economy is expected to grow by 5.5 percent annually. The inflation rate for 2009 has been estimated as 7.5 percent, for 2010 as 6.5 percent and for 2011 as 5.5 percent.

CONTRACTORS HOPE FOR BETTER SALES IN FALL
Turkish contractors are complaining about a sharp decline in sales and increasing costs of building materials. However, most contractors expect better sales in the fall season.
