First Convoy Of Trucks Laden With Humanitarian Aid Departs From Turkey For Palestine

ANKARA - Turkish aid organization Kizilay (Red Crescent) sent 99 tons part of nearly 1,300 tons of humanitarian aid to Palestine.
The humanitarian aid is supplied by the Turkish Prime Ministry Emergency Management Directorate General.
The convoy comprising five trucks and two communication vehicles carrying 13-member team departed from Ankara after a ceremony at the Red Crescent's building in Etimesgut district on Friday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Emergency Management Director General Hasan Ipek said that Turkey would send humanitarian aid worth of nearly 1 million U.S. dollars to ease suffering of Palestinians.
Ipek said that 99 tons part of the aid would be distributed to 2,750 Palestinian families by the Red Crescent.
The Red Crescent convoy will reach Palestine via Syria and Jordan.
