Turkish Cypriot President To Address Coe General Assembly

STRASBOURG - Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) invited Turkish Cypriot President Mehmet Ali Talat to address general assembly meetings this Fall.
The assembly also invited Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias to participate at the meetings.
PACE approved Turkish Cypriot parliamentarians to attend meetings the PACE general assembly and committees after the Greek side refused to say "yes" to a UN-brokered settlement plan in a referendum in April 2004.
