BERLIN, Aug 5 (AFP) - Injured German driver Ralf Schumacher will not compete in next week's Hungarian Grand Prix and is also in doubt for other races this season, BMW director Mario Theissen said Thursday.
The Williams-BMW driver, who has been sidelined from the last three GP after crashing out of the United States Grand Prix in June when he fractured his spinal cord in two places, had been hoping to make his comeback in Hungary on August 15.
But Theissen told the German agency SID: "We've always said that the doctors would have to give the green light for him to take part. If this is not the case, it's obvious that Ralf will not get behind the wheel."
Schumacher, who has signed for three years with Toyota from the 2005 season, said: "I feel good, but it's no doubt better for me to listen to the doctors."
Schumacher's Williams team are expected to announce on Friday who will stand in for him with Test driver Antonio Pizzona, who raced in the German Grand Prix last month, expected to keep his place.
Spaniard Marc Gene, the team's other test driver, was dropped in favour of the Brazilian after two disappointing showings in France and Britain.
