ANKARA - Here is the chain of command in the Turkish Army in the light of decisions taken during regular meeting of the Supreme Military Board (YAS) held between August 2-5:

Deputy Chief of General Staff: Gen. Ilker Basbug
Land Forces Commander: Gen. Yasar Buyukanit Naval Forces: Admiral Ozden Ornek Air Forces: Gen. Halil Ibrahim Firtina
Gendarmerie Forces: Gen. Fevzi Turkeri
First Army Commander: Gen Hursit Tolon
Second Army Commander: Gen. Sukru Sariisik
Third Army Commander: Gen. Orhan Yoney
Aegean Army Commander: Gen. Iþýk Koþaner Fleet Commander: Admiral Yener Karahanoglu Meanwhile, for the first time a civilian is expected to be appointed as the Secretary General of the National Security Council (NSC).
